BONE DENSITY EVALUATION

DEXA BONE DENSITY SCAN:

A DEXA scan was performed on the left hip and AP of the lumbar spine.  There is no DEXA scan for comparison. 

Total BMD of the left hip is 0.841 gm/cm2, the T-score 0.8 representing 89% of normal compared to young adults.  All T-score determinations in the femur region are within normal limits.

Total BMD of the lumbar spine is 1.090 gm per cm2, the T-score 0.4 representing 104% of normal compared to young adults.  Again, there is no evidence of osteopenia or osteoporosis at any tested site in the lumbar spine.

IMPRESSION:
Clinical correlation of this data is required but would suggest that Marie has relatively good bone mass
